Self Love First.

Last year was a big break through for me and self love. The start of 2018 was months of me truly working on myself. I discovered so much about myself, my health and my past and if anything made quite a bit of a break through.

The end of 2018 was slightly different you could say, I mean I have never been happier but what I have realised that I have lost a lot of self love. Through no fault of my own I guess. With the move to uni and the craziness of it all, travelling, meeting new people, getting into a relationship and then it ending... I guess I lost sight of my morals, I mean we are all human right? It's fine to admit you've lost your way a little. I'm in the right place by far, but adjusting to a new life is never easy.

Being the New year n all, I've sat and realised I was to put my own self love techniques to the test and share them with you. I feel like it's a great place to start a new journey together, as I am also seeing way too much negativity within many people around me and online.

Last year I came up with a lot of ideas and plans, yet never carried them out. It was like they still floated around my head as I went back into the belief I could never make them work. So In past few days I have sat down and gone over all the things I want to achieve personally, health, fitness and business wise this year and realised I can most certainly achieve them.

Starting with my self love series! Where every week I am going to bring you a post based on some aspect of self love whether it be regarding nutrition, wellness, tips and tricks, self confidence, body image, mental health etc.

Starting with today. Self love comes first over anyone or thing.

“Love yourself. Forgive yourself. Be true to yourself. How you treat yourself sets the standard for how others will treat you.”― Steve Maraboli

The truth in this quote is something I am trying to live by and remember this year. There is so much truth behind it. We are so hard on ourselves most of the time that we forget to love ourselves. Whenever we make mistakes we find it hard to forgive ourselves. We go through parts of life not being true to who we are. The way we treat, act and talk to ourselves is a clear reflection of how others will then treat you. I know when I have been toxic and negative towards myself they're the type of relationships and friendships I have been in at the time.

Which is why self love is first. Self love takes over all. You are the most important person in your life and come before most people.

My first challenge to you is to this week say something kinder to yourself. Whenever you get a bad thought or find yourself putting yourself down, swap it for a positive one. The more you work with it the more it'll become more natural. Then keep working at it every day.

Stay kind, happy and you.
